Golden Rule All members will be expected to act with graciousness and respect to other members.
Illegal Activity All members agree not to use any part HuntleyNeighbors.com for anything that is unlawful or illegal.
Comments, Communications, and other Content: General Rules Members may post comments and other content; send Personal Messages and other communications; and submit suggestions, ideas, comments, questions, or other information, so long as the content is not illegal, obscene, threatening, defamatory, invasive of privacy, infringing of intellectual property rights, or otherwise injurious to third parties or objectionable and does not consist of or contain software viruses, political campaigning, commercial solicitation, chain letters, mass mailings, or any form of "spam." You may not use a false e-mail address, impersonate any person or entity, or otherwise mislead as to the origin of a Personal Message, post, review or other content. HuntleyNeighbors.com reserves the right (but not the obligation) to remove or edit such content, and does regularly review posted content. All members grant the site a perpetual, non-exclusive right to display their posts.

Please remember that while we try to actively monitor posted messages, we are not responsible for the content contained within. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information presented. The posted messages express the views of the author, and not necessarily the views of Huntley Neighbors, its staff, or its providers. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify the Administrators of this forum immediately. The Administrators of this forum reserve the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if determined that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy applies to member profile information and signatures as well.
Personal attacks and flame wars While differing opinions are common in online forums please do so in a respectful, impersonal manner. Indulging in repeated personal attacks against any other member of the site will not be tolerated. This also includes indirect or implied insults against a person's character or making distasteful assumptions about the person (Eg. you probably don't have a life etc.). There will be no bashing of members' families, especially children, tolerated whatsoever on this board. Any member doing so will be subject to banning at the discretion of the Administrators.
Provocative baiting/trolling Don't post deliberately provocative or offensive topics or posts just to get a "rise" out of other members. Doing so will result in a warning and repeated offenses may result in banning.
Cross posting/double posting/posting in the wrong forum/boosting post count Please do not post the same message in more than one forum. And please try to pick the correct forum for posting. Repeated offenses may result in a warning or further action, at the discretion of the administrators. No clogging the forums with WCPs - it's fine to post silly threads every so often, but please don't create posts for the sole purpose of upping post count. If it is found that this is being abused, the posts will be deleted and post counts adjusted accordingly.
Personal Messaging Do not use the PM system to spam, advertise or otherwise harass any member. Personal Messages must not be publicly posted, and are to remain private between the members involved, with the exception of messages that need to be reported to an Administrator. Note that any reported abuse of the PM system may result in loss of PM privileges for the member involved and may even result in a ban if necessary.
Multiple Accounts Multiple forum user accounts by the same person are forbidden. Should you ever wish to change your forum username, please contact an Administrator.
User Profile and Posting Guidelines We request your cooperation in following these points with regard to your profile, signature and posts. 1. Please keep images down to a minimum in posts and signatures. Avoid using excessively large images. 2. Please keep font sizes and color changes to a minimum 3. Please use descriptive topic titles as much as possible. 4. Please use spoiler warnings when necessary.
Topics
Adult themes/content prohibited We believe in keeping this site free of adult content either in theme or language, implied or explicit. This includes any disturbing or graphic portrayal of violence. Anything inappropriate will be deleted or edited out.
Controversial topics While we try to include all kinds of discussions here, there are certain topics that we prefer not to bring up on HuntleyNeighbors.com. Religion/politics may be discussed, provided there is no evangelizing or deliberate intent to malign other political parties, religions, philosophies or faiths. Staff will judge on a case-by-case basis to decide whether a topic is "taboo" or not.
No spam policy Do not create topics just to post a link to your site. Commercial or otherwise, this is considered spam. Any kind of unwanted evangelism is also considered spam. Irrelevant links to commercial websites or inappropriate sites will be deleted. Users who post inappropriate/adult links may be banned without notice.
Moderation Policy
Enforcement In line with the spirit of the community, we prefer to be easy-going and friendly most of the time. Staff has a fair degree of freedom to interpret the rules according to the dynamics of each situation. Do not mistake this for weakness.
Reporting We encourage you to report any topics or posts that are not in compliance with our policy. A staff member will attend to it as soon as possible.
Disputing Decisions All of us make mistakes on occasions and in case you do have any problems with a moderation action or feel that you have been treated unfairly, please contact an Administrator or the staff member in question privately by e-mail or PM. Do not bring up the issue, challenge or mock staff in public. Creating topics in the forums expressly to disagree with staff actions, challenge or mock them will be severely frowned upon and may result in a warning or banning, at the Administrators' discretion.
Warning and Ban System Depending on the severity of the offense or rule-breaking, offending members may be warned by PM or in public. We try our best to keep warnings friendly and explanatory in nature the first time. However repeat offenses of the same nature will be frowned upon. Any further offenses may result in banning, at the discretion of the Administrators.
Spammers Commercial/inappropriate spamming may result in a ban without any warning.
